Thanksgiving. What a wonderful time of year for family, and FOOD. When I think of Thanksgiving, my picture may be a little different than yours. I think of lots of salmon, congri (a mixture if rice and beans), bread rolls, brussel sprouts, cause we gotta get some veggies in before dessert, and apple, berry, and pumpkin pie with lots of whipped cream on top. This year was more or less the same.
At our house, we have a tradition of hosting a party at our house with lots of family and friends. Everyone always brings some delicious meal to share and savor. We talk and play until the time comes to stuff our faces. This year the salmon and congri seemed especially good and I saw a few people get thirds and fourths of the bread rolls. Put you need to make sure to save room for dessert. I am usually in charge of making the pie. This year I made a delicious pumpkin pie. There were also some yummy cookies and a few mini cupcakes. Needless to say, It was all very good.
Now let's go into some history here. A some know, Thanksgiving has a very dark past. Basically, it was started by englishmen who celebrated how many Native Americans they had killed. When Abraham Lincoln was elected, it became an official holiday. I like to think of Thanksgiving as a way to honor these people who were there first and give thanks to everything I am very lucky to have.
On that note, I am very thankful for all of you guys, and I hope that you have an AMAZING rest of the day, and holiday.
THANK YOU!
